In the parking lot of the Weslaco Business Visitors Center stands an array of state flags. Fifty poles form a time-line of American history. Below each state flag is a plaque describing its symbolism. The difference in colors and symbols on the flags make it a spectacle to watch and enjoy. The Economic Development Corporation unveiled this salute to America's spirit on October 4, 2007.  

According to a plaque at the site, the state flags are displayed in the order that the state entered the Union. Unless you read right to left, the flags are actually in descending order. Either case, it is a great opportunity for people of all ages to get a better understanding of how this country became the United State of America that we all know today.
