Parks and Trails
State and local parks are the pillars of our society that set the tone for a higher quality of life. The Valley, in some sense, is blessed and cursed at the same time. Unfortunately, you will not find mountains or luscious green forests in the Valley. The area is too flat and too hot to host parks like Yosemite or Yellowstone National Park. But the Valley does have plenty of undeveloped land that attracts unique blend of birds and wildlife. The Valley does host world-class birding centers and some state parks. Being located near the Rio Grande Valley River lends itself to some interesting site-seeing tours.
Cities throughout the Valley are either building new parks or renovating old ones periodically. It is our job to explore what each park has to offer and how it can increase the quality of life in your community.
